Optimism grows among finance directorsRecruitment opportunities in the City of London could be set to increase after a survey found that finance directors are becoming increasingly positive.

Research by accountancy firm Deloitte showed that finance bosses in the UK are feeling more optimistic about their firm's future prospects than at any point in the last two years.

This is despite concerns among some that the UK could slip back into recession shortly after seeing economic growth at some point this year.

Ian Stewart, chief economist at Deloitte, commented: "Today, businesses are lifting their eyes from the recession and are looking for growth in 2010."

He acknowledged that while the state of the financial system and the economy is a long way from being normal, "things are looking up".

This could bode well for people who are looking for office jobs in the City of London, either on a permanent or temporary basis.

According to official figures, the British economy contracted by 0.2 per cent between July and September 2009, which means it is the only G20 economy still in recession.
