 People looking for full-time or part-time office jobs in London could be set to benefit from growing optimism among businesses.According to research by private equity firm Bowmark Capital, many small business owners are hopeful that the economy will begin to pick up this year. This marks a sharp contrast to the state of affairs in late 2008, when business confidence reached the lowest level in the history of the survey. Charles Ind, managing partner at Bowmark Capital, acknowledged that in previous recessions, it has taken up to three years for economic activity to return to the point it was at before the slump began. However, he noted that many business owners believe growth could come about more quickly this time around, which could potentially lead to an upturn in recruitment activity. "The entrepreneurs are optimistic about a faster return to growth for the economy and for their own businesses," Mr Ind commented. This backs up the findings of a recent study by Deloitte, which found that optimism among finance directors in Britain is at its highest level in two years.
