Recruitment activity in the City of London could be set to rise after an analyst predicted an upturn in business confidence.According to David Kern, chief economist at the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), improving economic conditions are set to drive up optimism in the business sector. This could bode well for those who are looking for office jobs in the London area, as increased confidence could lead to firms expanding and creating new vacancies. However, Mr Kern warned that the UK's economic recovery could be fragile and "very patchy". "It could have interruptions - it is going to be a very difficult recovery," he said. Mr Kern added that while he is not being excessively hopeful for the future, he is not being overly pessimistic either. This, he said, is because the economy looks set to go "in the right direction". The comments come after PricewaterhouseCoopers revealed that activity in Britain's financial services sector has gone up slightly over the past three months.
