Employees 'want fulfilment at work'People aged 40-plus may be looking for new office or administration jobs in the near future, as lots of employees are unhappy in their current role.

Research by Home Learning College found that one in four people do not feel fulfilled by their job at the moment, while others feel bored and unappreciated.

This suggests that employees may be motivated to seek new jobs if new vacancies present themselves.

After all, both the National Institute of Economic and Social Research and the British Chambers of Commerce believe the UK is either out of or close to leaving recession, which could boost the jobs market in the near future.

Commenting on the findings, Home Learning College said they show how many Britons are interested in developing their knowledge and skills to progress in their career.

It has therefore advised employers not to overlook the importance of staff training, particularly in the current economic climate.

"Only then will employees feel more positive about their career prospects and be more engaged at work," said academic director Dave Snow.
