People in administration jobs could be set to see an increase in their employment prospects after new figures revealed that businesses involved in consumer services (CS) are enjoying an upturn in fortunes.Firms in the sub-sector saw a slight improvement in overall business conditions between December 2009 and February 2010, according to the latest CBI Service Sector Survey. It revealed that CS firms - including hotels, bars, restaurants, travel and leisure firms - saw the balance of their value for business rise by ten per cent. Furthermore, the volume of business for companies in the sub-sector rose by seven per cent, the highest climb since August 2007. Increased confidence and improved market conditions could make it easier for people to find administration jobs with CS firms over the coming months. "Overall, these figures are consistent with our view that the economy is recovering slowly," said Ian McCafferty, chief economic adviser at CBI. The CBI is one of a number of business organisations campaigning against the government's plan to raise National Insurance contributions by one per cent. Posted by Daniel Frost
