39% of SMEs 'feel that politics doesnÂ’t careNew research shows that nearly four-in-ten business owners believe that all three major political parties are indifferent towards small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

A report released today (April 29th) by uswitchforbusiness.com reveals that 39 per cent say that none of Labour, the Conservatives or the Liberal Democrats are concerned by their needs.

However, it appears that David Cameron's party are the lesser of the three evils for business leaders, with 28 per cent saying that his party best represents their interests following their pledge to remove Labour's proposed one per cent National Insurance increase for workers earning over £20,000.

Some 75 per cent maintain that the current government has not done enough to help them during the recession, with 18 per cent indicating that any change in government is crucial to encourage a complete economic recovery.

Jake Ridge, small business expert at www.uswitchforbusiness.com, says: "Small businesses are vital to the wealth and wellbeing of the nation. They are the backbone of Britain, accounting for over half of all private sector employment and private sector turnover."
