Business 'would not suffer' under coalition gThe risk to British business posed by a hung parliament is being exaggerated by the media, according to an expert.

A recent British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) survey published earlier this week found that of the 300 firms it polled, 65 per cent were "concerned" or "very concerned" at the perceived damage a coalition government could cause to business in the UK after the May 6th general election.

According to a different report also published this week, 28 per cent of human resources professionals would like David Cameron to gain power after the Conservatives pledged to scrap the government's proposed national Insurance contribution hike of one per cent.

However, Michael Baxter, editor of investmentandbusinessnews.co.uk, insists that there has been too much negative focus from Britain's media on the harmful consequences of a hung parliament, without the balance of offering the positive side of this outcome.

"I think that if the result of the election is that you get almost a three-way split and that forces three parties to work a little but closer together, that would be a good thing," he said.
