HR information 'should be included in new OFRs'Newly-reinstated Operating and Financial Reviews (OFRs) must include more data than previous incarnations of the reports, experts have said today (May 27th).

It was announced earlier this week that the government is to bring back OFRs - which involve a company detailing how their company is being run in writing - in order to further enhance corporate accountability.

However, Personnel Today reports that many specialists feel that the new form of OFR must also include information on how the firm manages its human resources.

Some two years after being proposed by the previous Labour government, OFRs were scrapped in April 2005 after it was decided that they were not fulfilling their intended function.

The legislation was then reintroduced in January 2006 but on a voluntary basis whereby firms were not legally obliged to return them. This led to many companies opting out of completing them.

Nevertheless, the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition has now decided to bring OFRs back as they seek to make the country's business sector more transparent.
