Private sector business development showing "great potential" PDF Print E-mail
Private sector business development showing Job seekers looking for opportunities in the private sector might be pleased to hear that business development is showing "great potential".

That is according to Claire McCartney, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) planning adviser, who said the industry is finding ways after the recession to boost the skills of its staff and recruit more capable employees.

"Limited budgets mean organisations and HR department have to think creatively - doing more for less is not so easy," she added.

Ms McCartney's comments come in response to the CIPD resourcing and talent planning survey which found that 22 per cent of organisations asked were implementing recruitment freezes - a figure down from 42 per cent last year.

What's more, finding suitable and experienced staff is the most important "resourcing objective" for 79 per cent of the companies polled.

Meanwhile, CIPD recently attributed technology to enhancing the workplace if done correctly. The organisation's HR Software Show was scheduled to answer questions on pensions, payroll, communication systems and performance management.ADNFCR-3012-ID-19847163-ADNFCR
