New research released yesterday (June 21st) has revealed that most employers in the City of London will not make special allowances for their employees to watch England's World Cup match tomorrow.Fabio Capello's team face a crucial showdown with Slovenia - in which they could be eliminated from the tournament - that kicks off at 15:00 BST, meaning that it clashes with most businesses' standard working hours. Many firms across the nation are introducing flexible working schemes in order to allow their staff to watch the game, but, according to the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, over half - 62 per cent - of employers in the capital are not altering their normal shift patterns. Of this figure, some 47 per cent said that they had flatly refused to allow staff to view the match, while a further 15 per cent indicated that they could not do so due to the nature of their business.
