SME bosses in the City of London and across the country must ensure that there is a culture of effective and internal communication within their company in order for it to fulfil its potential. That is the view of Martin Lyne, SME marketing director of Everything Everywhere, who said that positive relationships within a smaller business are vital for it to be successful. A report by Hiscox released earlier this year indicated that there are signs of renewed confidence within the UK's SME sector, with almost one in three - 30 per cent - expecting to expand during 2010, of which 63 per cent felt that the second half of the year represented their best chance of growth. However, in order to achieve these targets, Mr Lyne feels that embracing contemporary and modern business tools - such as smartphones and social networking - is essential to improve efficiency and raise the profile of the firm.
