FSB expresses doubts over Olympic SME schemeThe Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has stated that the new Our Team 2012 project, which is aimed at getting SME firms in the City of London and across the country involved in contributing to the Olympic Games, might not work.

It was announced earlier this week (July 26th) that SME's will be actively encouraged to help meet the £25 million fundraising target for Team 2012 under the idea that it provides these businesses with a golden opportunity to get involved in a world-renowned event that will take place on their doorstep in two year's time.

The money raised through this initiative - which involves 750 businesses paying up to £10,00 each - will be used to equip British athletes with the best training and equipment possible in the lead up to the Games.

However, Nick Winch, 2012 co-ordinator for the FSB, has commented that he is "sceptical" as to whether many smaller firms will want to participate as a payment of £10,000 may be too much for them to afford.
