 SME businesses across the City of London and the rest of the UK are not being offered enough help by the country's major banks, an expert has said.According to Mario Lafond, director at BrightSet Media, the government's measures based around aiding smaller companies in their search for finance in the aftermath of the global economic downturn must be implemented at the ground level in order for them to be successful. In a paper written by chancellor George Osborne and business secretary Vince Cable, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills earlier this week (July 26th) outlined plans to stimulate an industry-led recovery process through addressing the financial problems currently faced by firms. This will involve the government attempting to overhaul the current system as it stated it recognises the importance of business growth in the wake of the recession. But Mr Lafond believes that these measures may not be enough to help SMEs, as they may not "filter down to real small businesses". Posted by James Strang
