Research: 47% of UK employees want to switch careersAlmost half of all workers in roles such as accountancy jobs in the City of London and throughout the rest of the UK are planning to begin searching for a new job before the end of the year, new research has shown.

According to Aon's Consulting European Employee Benefits Benchmark survey, 47.4 per cent of employees in Britain are making provisions to begin looking for alternative employment before 2011.

This figure came as a part of Aon's study, which involved the global risk management services firm - which has more than 500 offices in over 120 countries worldwide - questioning more than 7,500 workers from nations in Europe including the Netherlands, Spain and France, as well as the UK.

It was also found that many older workers - those between the ages of 55 and 64 - across the continent are willing to take their experience and knowledge elsewhere, with around 20 per cent of this age group indicating their eagerness to switch careers.
