Private sector enjoys The availability of roles such as finance jobs in London and accountancy employment elsewhere in the UK increased markedly over the second quarter of the year, an expert has said.

According to Dr John Philpott, chief economic adviser at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the private sector "looks to have enjoyed a mini jobs boom" throughout the second three-month time period of 2010 as the country's economic recovery showed signs of gathering pace following the recession.

Dr Philpott said that full-time employment showed a "welcome rise" up to July, meaning that Britain had a "jobs-rich recovery" in the spring and early summer - which the expert added was in "stark contrast to the jobless recoveries experienced in the US and much of continental Europe in the past year".

The official from the CIPD - which has more than 135,000 members - concluded that such figures should give "considerable heart" to people looking for a private sector job.
