Finance jobs workers 'are happiest' Employees in finance jobs in London and the rest of the UK are the happiest group in the country in terms of job satisfaction, new research has found.

According to a study conducted by Infogroup and ORC International, the pessimistic effects of the recession and negative press surrounding the sector since the onset of the fiscal downturn, those in financial services jobs are happy in their line of work.

The 2010 Infogroup Perspectives survey looked into engagement and satisfaction among workers throughout the world, with the most content groups being defined as those that are committed to staying in their current line of work as well as going above their call of duty to help their company achieve its targets.

And Sally Winston, divisional manager of employee research at ORC International commented that financial organisations are "providing all the key ingredients needed for a healthy, sustainable, productive and motivated workforce".

Earlier this week, Deloitte stated that many FTSE 350 companies are not planning to offer their senior staff members pay rises in the near future.
