Study: UK financial sector grew again in Q3People in finance jobs in London could be pleased to note that activity in the UK's fiscal sector expanded at its fastest rate for more than three years in the third quarter of 2010.

That is according to a new study conducted and published by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and PricewaterhouseCoopers yesterday (September 28th), which found that growth in the country's financial markets extended for the fifth three-month period in succession and at its highest level since June 2007.

The Financial Services Survey also predicted that this trend will continue to gather pace over the final quarter of the year - which could be positive news for those seeking roles such as accountancy jobs in the City of London.

Ian McCafferty, chief economic adviser at the CBI, commented that although the rate of growth was slower over the quarter than had been hoped, "it did help firms' profitability to rise further".

These figures may be an indication as to why, according to a study published recently by Infogroup and ORC International, people in finance jobs are the happiest group of employees in the UK.
