Females 'wanted for roles in IT sector' Females seeking employment opportunities such as IT software jobs and IT consultancy roles in the City of London or elsewhere in the UK may be buoyed by one expert's comments.

According to Maggie Berry, managing director of womenintechnology.co.uk, the majority of businesses want to gain more female staff in these roles following the recession, but there are currently not enough women actively seeking these positions.

"Most firms, when you talk to them, would love to see more women coming into their business, but they just don't see them," she said.

Ms Berry added that this issue is not specific solely to the IT sector, as there is generally a shortage of supply when it comes to females across most job markets following the recession.

The expert was speaking at a recent IT infrastructure event in London, which aims to offer professionals in this line of work the chance to discover how their business aims and objectives can be fulfilled through the use of this medium.
