ONS administrators needed on Isle of Wight?

ONS administrators needed on Isle of Wight?Approximately 70 temporary jobs on the Isle of Wight are to be created by the Office of National Statistics (ONS), which could see positions for administrators open up.

The organisation needs additional staff members to help it carry out the 2011 census - due to be held in March next year - and around 4,500 roles are to be established across the south-east of England, the Isle of Wight County Press Online reports.

Discussing the matter, director of the ONS Glen Watson noted that the right people must be recruited in order to give Britons the support they require in completing and returning the questionnaires.

"The census is not just about counting people, the information it provides is needed to plan vital services like schools, hospitals, housing, roads and emergency services," he remarked.

In total, 35,000 jobs will open up across England and Wales, with some 25 million households expected to take part in the population study.
