| Many older employees 'eager to go on after retirement age' |

People in the latter stages of their careers seeking roles such as finance jobs in London may be pleased to note the findings of new research published this week (October 18th).According to a report conducted by Friends Provident, more than half of all Britons - 51 per cent - want to carry on working after they pass the retirement age as a way of remaining active - an attitude which may be an indication that the older generation will provide a cornerstone of the country's employment market for some time yet. The study found that the nation's ageing population is "healthier and more energetic than any previous generation", meaning that they are eager to remain in jobs for longer than their predecessors. And this may be good news for firms such as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking to recruit in the near future, as older workers and the knowledge and experience they bring have become more highly-prized following the recession.
