People seeking employment opportunities in areas such as accountancy jobs might be set for a period of more effective job hunting, if one analyst's comments are anything to go by.According to John Hacksworth, chief economist at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), speculation surrounding the "death of the UK economy" have been "greatly exaggerated" by some professionals - which is shown in the fact that the Office for National Statistics revealed yesterday (October 26th) that the nation's gross domestic product (GDP) expanded by 0.8 per cent in the third quarter of the year. Mr Hacksworth explained that this figure had surprised PwC - a worldwide financial advisory firm with a presence in 154 countries globally - as "we had expected GDP growth of 0.5 per cent". And although Britain will continue to feel the effects of the recession for some time yet, the expert continued, there are definite signs of a "gradual recovery" as opposed to a double dip downturn.
