Recruitment agencies and HR 'must work together after recession' PDF Print E-mail
Recruitment agencies and HR 'must work together after recession' Recruitment agencies are set to continue playing a vital role in the appointment of professionals to office-based roles such as accountancy jobs, if one expert's comments are to be believed.

According to Martin Snell, chairman of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation's legal and human resources (HR) department, the UK's jobs market in the aftermath of the recession requires such organisations and HR specialists to work closely together if the sector is to recover effectively.

Mr Snell remarked that "identifying talent and individuals with the right skills and experience" currently presents employers across all sectors with "real challenges".

"A productive partnership with a recruitment agency is therefore not just beneficial but is a business imperative," he added.

These comments were made at a recent meeting between agencies and HR experts, which was intended to both maintain and build productive relationships between the two parties.

Meanwhile, Alistair Tebbit of the Institute of Directors said recently that the government must reduce the amount of red tape faced by small and medium-sized enterprises - which may include recruitment firms - after the downturn.
