People searching for office-based opportunities in roles such as finance jobs in London might be pleased to hear one expert's opinion about the UK's employment market in the coming months.According to Phil Flaxton, chief executive of Work Wise, there is unlikely to be a dramatic rise in the number of people not in permanent jobs over the course of the next year or so. "I think, if anything, unemployment levels are likely to stabilise or potentially go down, because there is still a skills shortage in the UK," he remarked. Mr Flaxton was speaking following the publication of data from the Office for National Statistics earlier this week (November 17th 2010), which revealed that the employment rate for people between the ages of 16 and 64 increased by 167,000 in the third quarter of the year. And the expert added that this trend may continue in the near future, despite the fact that the country's economy will take years to recover fully. Posted by Mary King
