The outlook for people who have careers such as business development jobs in London has been said to be improving.According to the Charted Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), more people were satisfied with their positions during autumn 2010. The group's quarterly Employee Outlook survey revealed that 75 per cent of employees working in the public sector think it is unlikely they will lose their positions. More than 2,000 workers who were questioned also revealed that job satisfaction climbed across sectors to achieve a score of +42, compared with +35 during the previous quarter of 2010. CIPD senior public policy adviser Ben Willmott said that the economic downturn has encouraged employees to "place more value on simply having a job than they do during more benign economic times". The Office for National Statistics reported earlier this month that the employment rate for young people aged between 16 and 64 years old had increased by 0.3 per cent over the three months leading up to September 2010, reaching 70.8 per cent.
