People in finance jobs in London may be pleased with one expert's assertions with regard to the likely way in which the UK's banks will approach staffing in 2011.According to Lynne Hardman, executive director at Badenoch & Clark, firms in the financial sector will focus primarily on making sure they keep their best employees over the coming 12 months as the country continues its emergence from the global economic downturn. "Retention will be a key focus as banks have boosted their teams significantly in 2010," she explained. Ms Hardman added that risk professionals are likely to prove to be in "high demand" over the next year, as "over-the-counter clearing will be a key focus for hiring and we expect to see a surge in operations and finance project-based recruitment." Meanwhile, the Office for National Statistics stated last week (December 15th 2010) that the employment rate for people aged between 16 and 64 dipped slightly in the three months leading up to October 2010.
