 An expert has advised employers that building good relationships with workers in accountancy jobs is likely to prove crucial next year, but warned too many firms are failing when it comes to employee engagement.Writing in an article for the Huffington Post, Saatchi and Saatchi S chief executive Judah Schiller claimed many businesses' negligence in maintaining staff morale has led to many workers putting in little more than a token effort. "Part of the problem is that companies consistently fail to make a strong connection between their own 'big picture' and its relevance to their employees," he explained. Mr Schiller added that some companies "talk at rather than with" their workforce and make little attempt to take their employees' desires and needs into consideration. He suggested a proactive approach on the matter can reap rapid rewards. His comments came after Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development employee relations adviser Mike Emmott said younger workers are becoming increasingly intolerant of bad management.
