Prime minister to discuss jobs creation with major firms People searching for employment in office-based roles such as IT consultancy jobs may be pleased to hear that the prime minister is set to discuss creation of opportunities with Microsoft bosses today (January 10th 2011).

David Cameron will meet with senior officials from some of the country's biggest organisations - such as John Lewis and Tesco, as well as Microsoft - in order to converse on their plans to boost jobs numbers in the aftermath of the global economic downturn.

The Conservative-Liberal Democrat alliance estimates that some 300,000 jobs have been created in the UK's private sector over the last six months and Mr Cameron - who became leader of the Conservative party in 2005 - intends to liaise with these organisations to see how the coalition can work alongside them to boost employment figures further.

"We can only get our economy back on track by creating a climate in which the private sector can grow and develop, creating jobs and opportunities for people across the country," he noted.
