BCC welcomes David Cameron's recruitment pledge David Cameron's pledge to make recruitment easier for small and medium-sized enterprises offering office-based roles such as finance jobs is a welcome announcement, an expert has said.

David Frost, director general of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), has said that he "warmly welcomes" the prime minister's assertion that he is actively looking for ways in which the Conservative-Liberal Democrat alliance can help improve this process, particularly for smaller firms.

He noted that private sector job creation has, for a long time, been dependent on whether or not employers have the flexibility to hire and fire, but, despite this fact, "successive governments have increased rather than decreased" the legislative burden on these companies.

Therefore, he added that the government's commitment would make "a big difference" in making "2011 a year for growth across the UK".

Yesterday (January 10th 2011), it was revealed that Mr Cameron would meet with senior figures from major firms to discuss their plans for job creation.
