Women may be more likely to seek alternative office-based roles as opposed to finance jobs in London, it has been suggested.According to Piya Khanna, founder, executive coach and change consultant at Change to Succeed, the opportunities and careers available to females in the UK are changing rapidly, as is women's definition of the word "success". Ms Khanna noted that females therefore may be more likely to pursue careers that are not dependent on them having a university education. "Work-life balance is a very important goal. Job satisfaction and doing work that's enjoyable and rewarding in more than financial terms is also something that we hold dear," she explained. The expert went on to say that this represents a contrast to the attitudes of women jobseekers in the past. Meanwhile, the Office for National Statistics revealed last month (December 8th 2010) that the full-time gender pay gap narrowed by two percentage points between 2009 and last year.
