Employers must work alongside their members of staff and policymakers in order to combat the growing issue of rising stress levels among employees in the aftermath of the global economic downturn, it has been suggested. In news which may be pertinent to companies offering finance jobs in London and throughout the rest of the UK, Stephen Overell, associate director of policy at The Work Foundation, has said that it is crucial for all parties to pull in the same direction to tackle this problem. He explained that the worldwide monetary slump had served only to heighten what was already a troubling issue for workers across the country. "There is evidence now that things have got a bit worse in that respect," Mr Overell noted. These comments came after the publication of a survey by Business Environment recently (January 31st 2011), which stated that 31 per cent of office workers feel under pressure to cut short their lunch breaks due to factors such as staff shortages.
