Accountancy jobs in the City of London and throughout the rest of the UK may be a good option for anyone seeking a change in career path in the aftermath of the global economic downturn. That is if comments made by Robert Jelly, executive director of the education sector of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), are anything to go by, as he believes that there a plenty of opportunities to secure well-paid accountancy positions in Britain after the recession. Mr Jelly explained that this sector "tends to be less cyclical and has always been influenced by the state of the economy", but noted that this had caused more people to take up accountancy training courses, as a growing number of workers are recognising how "attractive" the market is. This comes after the latest Report on Jobs, conducted by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG, showed that permanent job placements increased at their fastest rate for six months in January 2011.
