Many workers operating in office-based roles such as accountancy jobs in the City of London are considering the possibility of postponing their planned retirement date, new research has shown.According to a study conducted by Prudential, some 62 per cent of employees who had pencilled in 2011 as the year for them to finish work are now looking into the possibility of continuing in their jobs in order to increase their retirement income. In addition, more than half - 53 per cent -of these people indicated their contentment to stay with their current employer, while 11 per cent stated that they would instead seek pastures new on a part-time basis. Vince Smith-Hughes of Prudential commented: "The reality is that many people do not see continuing to work as a disaster, many enjoy the social and intellectual challenges of work." Meanwhile, Dave Fleming of Badenoch & Clark noted recently that the recruitment sector is set to grow in 2011. Posted by Daniel Frost
