Some older people employed in office-based roles such as accountancy jobs in the City of London are likely to be pleased to hear a study has found employers are confident about being able to create new positions.According to research conducted by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), 94 per cent of companies claim that in the coming months they will either expand their workforce or keep it at the same levels. More than a third of those who responded to the poll indicated that they will also looking to bring in more members of staff on temporary contracts during 2011. Roger Tweedy, the REC's director of research, stated that the results of the study are a "positive sign". He added: "Feedback from public sector employers suggests that they are reconfiguring their resourcing in the readiness for growth." This comes after a study conducted by Prudential found that 62 per cent of employees who were ready to retire this year are reconsidering their future. Posted by James Strang
