Companies 'recognising benefits of older workers' Organisations offering office-based roles such as accountancy jobs in the City of London are increasingly recognising the benefits of having older people as part of their workforce.

That is according to Rachel Krys, director at Inclusive Employers, who believes that bosses have made great strides in recent times towards becoming more aware of the advantages of employing older, more experienced professionals.

Ms Krys explained that people over the age of 65 were not particularly affected by the global economic downturn as the flexibility they can often offer is now more valued than ever among the business community.

"I think we have seen in the last ten years a real move from employers to start to accept that there are huge advantages to having older people in the workforce," she added.

This comes after a report by WRVS stated that over-65s made a net contribution of £40 billion to the UK economy last year.
