REC calls on chancellor to promote jobs growth

REC calls on chancellor to promote jobs growth The government must play a role in helping to nurse the UK jobs sector back to full health in the wake of the global economic downturn, an organisation has stated.

According to the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), which has written a letter to chancellor George Osborne urging him to make sure the forthcoming budget on March 23rd 2011 properly "supports employment growth throughout the UK", the coalition can help the industry.

The REC has recommended measures such as cutting the amount of legislative red tape surrounding the business sector, as well as measures such as introducing national insurance holidays for small and medium-sized enterprises offering filling roles such as finance jobs in London.

Kevin Green, chief executive of the REC, commented that the budget "must do all it can to create an environment where companies find it easy to grow and create jobs".

This comes after the latest REC and KPMG Report of Jobs showed that the number of full-time job placements increased at its fastest rate for ten months in February.
