The way in which businesses offering office-based roles such as finance jobs in London assess the performance of their staff members is changing in the 21st century, an expert has said.According to Martin Lyne, director of small and medium-sized enterprise marketing at T-Mobile, more companies are now basing their analysis on results as opposed to just the amount of time individuals spend working. This could be taken as a clear sign that a growing number of managers are recognising the benefits of offering flexible working practices in the aftermath of the global economic downturn and Mr Lyne added that mobile technology is also becoming more important. "Many small businesses also rely on part-time staff such as parents and the mobile technology enables them to work around their family schedule," he said. This follows the publication of the latest Recruitment and Employment Confederation JobsOutlook, which stated that flexible staffing arrangements are seen as integral to growth.
