Workers in office-based roles such as accountancy jobs who have remained loyal to their employer throughout the turbulent times of the worldwide monetary downturn may be rewarded.That is according to Sheila Attwood, editor of pay and benefits at XPertHR, who has said that an increasing number of managers are deciding that creating bonus schemes for their members of staff who stuck with them during the recession. Ms Attwood explained that this is perceived by bosses as a "cost-effective reward tool" to compensation for the extended period of salary stagnation. "A review of benefits and associated communication exercises can reinforce the value of the benefits package to employees," she added. Research conducted by XPertHR last week (March 17th 2011) showed that the media pay rise witnessed in the UK in the three months leading up to the end of February 2011 was 2.3 per cent, a figure below the current rate of inflation.
