Employers offering roles such as accountancy jobs in the City of London are set to attend a meeting today (May 5th) to discuss their preparations for the implementation of the Agency Workers Directive (AWD).The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) is to host its concluding National AWR Summit at the capital city's Vinopolis venue, an event that will involve some 400 delegates from both the private and public sectors. Representatives from the Conservative-Liberal Democrat alliance and business groups such as the Confederation of British Industry are scheduled to make speeches on how organisations are going about adapting to these upcoming changes. Kevin Green, chief executive of the REC, said the alterations will represent the "most significant regulations ever to affect our industry", meaning that "the need for a clear understanding" on what they entail is essential. This comes after a government official noted during a conference held by the Association of Recruitment Consultancies that recruiting groups should offer feedback to the administration on the AWR.
