Employers offering roles such as finance jobs in London who are concerned about the potential effects of the Agency Workers Directive (AWR) may wish to consult a new document on the matter published by the government. The Conservative-Liberal Democrat alliance has produced guidelines on order to help companies and firms within the recruitment sector adapt seamlessly to these upcoming changes to the country's employment legislation. Several bodies - including recruitment representatives and trade unions - have contributed to the document, which may provide peace of mind to management figures worried about the possible impact the AWR will have on their business. Edward Davey, employment relations minister, commented: "The agency sector is a key part of the UK's flexible labour market. It provides the flexibility needed for employers to meet surges in demand, cover temporary absences or cope with seasonal fluctuations." This comes after the Recruitment and Employment Confederation last week (May 5th) hosted an event for 400 business delegates to discuss the AWR. Posted by Daniel Frost
