An increasing number of candidates seeking roles such as business development jobs in London found permanent positions last month, new research has suggested.According to the latest Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and KPMG Report on Jobs published today (May 11th), April witnessed a "strong and accelerated" rate of full-time appointments across the employment sector. Despite the fact the figure remained inferior to the ten-month high point posted in February 2011, this could still be taken as a sign that the UK's jobs market is stepping up its rate of recovery following the recession. Meanwhile, the paper also shows that the rate of inflation in permanent staff salaries quickened at its highest rate for nine months in April. Kevin Green, chief executive of the REC, noted: "A number of permanent hires made in IT, construction and engineering suggest that employer confidence on the whole is improving." This comes after the REC stated recently that 23 per cent of firms are planning to hire more full-time workers in the second quarter of the year.
