Professionals searching for business development jobs are set to enjoy improved conditions in the UK's recruitment sector at present, a new study has suggested.According to the latest Bank of Scotland Report on Jobs published today (May 16th), placements in full-time roles increased at their strongest level for nearly four years north of the border last month, in what could be perceived as a clear indication that the country's jobs market is returning to health following the worldwide slump. Furthermore, temporary staff appointments also went up in April, with analysts believing this largely to be down to greater demand from companies. Meanwhile, average salaries also went up throughout this period. Donald McRae, chief economist at the Bank of Scotland, observed: "The latest Report on Jobs shows a further improvement in the Scottish labour market ... as all eight employment sectors registered greater demand for permanent staff in April." This follows on from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG stating that permanent staff appointments saw a "strong and accelerated" growth last month. Posted by Daniel Frost
