Bosses at firms fulfilling roles such as finance jobs in London can boost their productivity by consulting workers when considering strategic decisions for the future. That is the opinion of Phil McCabe, spokesman for the Forum of Private Business, who believes that genuinely valuing the views and points made by employees can lead to enhanced engagement and co-operation in the workplace. Mr McCabe explained that this will help workers feel as if they are a part of an organisation and added that "the vast majority" of people starting new jobs have an "eager and enthusiastic attitude" towards helping the company succeed. However, he added "many lose motivation and become disillusioned and lazy" if it becomes apparent they have no input into the day-to-day running of the business. Matt Duffy of Lorica recently observed that a growing number of Britons are becoming aware of the benefit packages offered by their companies. Posted by Mary King
