Office staff in London should be mindful of the fact that many employers like their workers to update their skills on a regular basis following the recession. That is according to Ruth Spellman, chief executive of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), who feels that the majority of managers want their workforce to be constantly evolving in terms of the expansion of its skill set. Ms Spellman explained that people seeking jobs in the aftermath of the global monetary slump could perhaps attend an official course to enhance their abilities, as having a certificate acts as "evidence" to an employer that they may be management material. "When you write on your CV that you've had ten years of management experience, what does that mean if there isn't any validation of the skills that you've learnt?" she asked. This comes after the CMI revealed last week (May 24th) that 45 per cent of managers say the number of workers feeling valued in their business has decreased over the past six months.
