People applying for sales recruitment roles in the City of London are most likely to miss out on a job because of style issues in their CV, it has been suggested.According to Peter Panayotou, founder and senior consultant at The Write Stuff, grammatical errors and spelling mistakes are the most common problems found on the majority of CVs. Such mistakes can lead to companies looking elsewhere for suitable candidates for an available office job, something that, in the current competitive employment climate, individuals should strive to avoid. Mr Panayotou explained that some people are "not that detail-orientated", but insisted it is vital for individuals to be "very thorough" in terms of making sure their CV is accurate. "From an employer's point of view, it is important to show that you have been thorough and that you have got that attention to detail," he added. This comes after Ruth Spellman of the Chartered Management Institute noted that bosses are eager for their staff to update their skills on a regular basis. Posted by Daniel Frost
