Older candidates 'have strong work ethic' Employers searching for suitable members of staff to fulfil roles such as finance jobs in London may be well advised to consider older candidates.

That is if comments made by Yvonne Goodwin, managing director at Yvonne Goodwin Wealth Management, are anything to go by, as she believes that such professionals offer a great deal of benefits to companies across all sectors.

Ms Goodwin explained that people in the latter stages of their career often "have a really good work ethic and they really want to work", meaning that managers may wish to opt for more experienced candidates when they next recruit.

She went on to state it is crucial for older applicants to "come up with a really good CV" and show "willingness" in interview situations in order to display the fact that they are the best person for the job.

Research published last week (June 29th) by Aviva showed that 11 per cent of over-55s were forced into early retirement recently, but Ms Goodwin noted this need not be the case as long as they are willing to be flexible.
