Many office staff in London will not benefit from flexible working practices when the Olympic Games are held in the city next year. That is according to new research conducted by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), which has found that just ten per cent of employers will permit workers to operate flexibly while this event runs between July 27th and August 12th 2012. In addition, 50 per cent of companies indicated they will not introduce any specialist changes whatsoever to their regular internal policies. As a result, many workers such as experienced admin staff look set to miss out on the opportunity of seeing global sports stars like Usain Bolt and Rafael Nadal perform in London. Diana Bruce, senior policy liaison officer at the CIPP, called on bosses to be a little more flexible as the "majority of individuals are likely to want to take time out to see certain events".
