London recruitment agencies look set to see a growing number of professionals come to them in search of permanent work in the near future, an expert has suggested.According to Phil Flaxton, chief executive officer of Work Wise UK, positive sentiment now appears to be returning slowly to the hiring sector in the wake of the worldwide economic downturn. Mr Flaxton explained that the "underlying trend in the recruitment market is cautiously upwards" following the recession, a feeling evidenced by the Office of National Statistics revealing earlier this week (July 13th) that unemployment fell during the last quarter. The specialist described this as a "positive step in the right direction" as "any reduction in unemployment is good" because it appears to show that confidence is coming back after a difficult period. Nevertheless, he warned that the recovery will be "very, very slow and gradual" as companies are still wary of conducting widespread recruitment due to the ongoing economic fragility of the country.
