Companies with workers fulfilling finance jobs in London that have been affected by the recent civil unrest should be given special dispensation from the government, an expert has said.Over the last few days, urban areas across the UK such as the capital, Birmingham and Manchester have witnessed serious public disorder, with hundreds of people arrested on suspicion of crimes like arson, vandalism and looting. This has had a huge impact on many firms, as some have been advised to close early to avoid trouble while others have been directly impacted by rioters through issues such as having windows smashed. And, according to John Walker, national chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses, the adminstration should provide such organisations with some leeway in the near future. "Until things are brought under control and businesses are able to claim insurance and open their doors in safety, HMRC must extend leniency," he insisted. Posted by Mary King
