Many employees fulfilling office jobs across the UK are unsatisfied with how their career has progressed up to now, new research has revealed.According to a study published yesterday (August 16th) by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), some 42 per cent of workers feel they are currently further behind in their line of expertise than they would like to be at this stage of their lives. This statistic is based on the findings of a survey involving 2,000 employees and it appears the recession has had an impact on the progression of many, as 22 per cent indicated their employer does not have the money available to help them advance. Meanwhile, 37 per cent stated they have taken on additional responsibility for no extra pay as companies struggle after the downturn. This comes after research by XpertHR recently showed that 45 per cent of professionals in the human resources sector believe they entered this line of work by accident. Posted by Daniel Frost
