Confidence among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) offering roles such as finance jobs in London has fallen in recent weeks, new research has shown.According to a study published today (August 25th) by BDRC Continental, the last month has witnessed a "significant decline" in positive sentiment among managers of SMEs across the country. The organisation's Business Opinion Omnibus found that optimism has dipped from a net balance of four per cent recorded in July to -12 per cent in the last four weeks or so. This sharp decline represents the third consecutive month in which confidence has fallen and the body noted this most recent drop is due to several major factors. Shiona Davies of BDRC - which is Britain's largest independent research consultancy - indicated August has been a "challenging month for the global economy" because of issues such as the eurozone debt crisis and civil unrest across the UK.
